Description
The 7 Pot Red is the original red 7 Pot from Trinidad and a classic among superhot chilli peppers. This traditional variety forms the foundation of numerous later 7 Pot selections and crosses. It combines extreme heat with a rich, fruity flavour and a tropical aroma.
The squat, wrinkled fruits ripen from green to bright red. The name ‘7 Pot’ comes from the story that a single pepper can add heat to seven pots of stew. A true challenge for lovers of superhot chillies!
These peppers are excellent for hot sauces, marinades and Caribbean dishes. They can also be dried and ground into chilli powder. Use sparingly: a small amount delivers plenty of heat.
7 Pot Red belongs to the species Capsicum chinense and thrives in warmth and sunshine. For the best results, grow this chili pepper in a greenhouse or a large container in a warm, sheltered spot. Germination works best with a temperature of 28-30 degrees Celsius.
With these seeds, you can grow this legendary superhot chili yourself!
