Description
Mortgage Lifter is a delicious heirloom variety that gets large Beefsteak tomatoes with good flavour and texture and few seeds. The Mortgage Lifter was developed in the 1930’s by a gardener who crossed the four largest tomatoes he knew, of. The variety he created produced immense, 500 to 600 gram, tasty fruits. With the sale of these tomatoes he could repay his mortgage and that’s how this tomato got the name Mortgage Lifter.

Massive produce
Low yield but massive outcomes. Fruits of over 1kg have been produced. Sensitive to the manduca genus (to point of acting as trap crop) though effective agrochemicals exist against it.
