Description
Madre Vieja is named after the place where the chili most likely originates: southwestern Guatemala, where the Madre Vieja – 'old mother' – river can be found.
The plant grows up to 80 to 90 centimeters in height. The pods have a beautiful orange color when ripe and have a delicious, relatively hot, fruity flavor, perfect for chili sauce or chili powder. It's one of the smallest Baccatum varieties and therefore a perfect pot plant that doesn't ask much attention and gives many medium hot fruits.
